What We Do With Your Details
We only hold what you send us through a form, we never sell it, and this site does not track you.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Cottrell Cattle Company LLC, a family beef farm in Sonora, Kentucky. If you want to ask about anything on this page, call or text 270-766-9041 or 270-268-4394, or use the contact form.
2. What we collect, and only when you send it
We do not collect anything about you simply for reading this site. There are no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no tracking of any kind. We do not know who visits, how many of you there are, or which pages you read.
The only information we hold is what you type into one of our three forms and send to us:
- Reservation request — your name, email address, phone number, the share size you want, how you would like to receive your beef, your town and ZIP code, and anything you write in the notes box.
- Contact form — your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the topic you pick, and your message.
When a form is sent, our website also records the internet address (IP address) the form came from and the date and time. That is kept to help us deal with spam, and for nothing else.
3. Why we hold it
To answer you, to arrange your share, and to keep a record of what was agreed. That is all. We do not build a profile on you.
If you tick the box agreeing to our terms and conditions when you reserve, we record that you agreed and when. That protects both of us if there is ever a disagreement about what was promised.
4. Where it goes
Form submissions are stored on this website, which is hosted for us by Hostinger, and are emailed to our own farm mailbox. Nobody else receives them.
We do not sell your information, rent it, trade it, or hand it to anybody for marketing. We are a farm, not a mailing list business.
We would only ever share your details if the law required it of us.
5. Email
We do not run a newsletter. If you contact us, we reply to you about that, and you will not hear from us about anything else.
6. Cookies and other sites
This website does not set any cookies of its own and does not store anything in your browser.
Our pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google to fetch them, and Google can see your IP address when that happens. We do not receive anything from that request.
Our Instagram and Facebook links take you to those companies, and once you are there you are covered by their privacy policies rather than ours.
7. How long we keep it
We keep reservation records for as long as we are dealing with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, because they are our record of an order and a deposit. Contact messages we keep until they are no longer useful.
8. Asking us what we hold, or to delete it
Get in touch and ask. We will tell you what we have about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete it.
One honest limit: if you have an order in progress or a deposit with us, we have to keep the record of that order until it is finished. Everything else we can remove.
9. Children
This site is meant for adults buying beef. We do not knowingly collect anything from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the bottom. If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, which we have no plans to do, we will say so here first.
